I think the photographer wasn't thinking and trying enhance his photo.  Good photographer but clearly not an astronomer.

I like the picture. My guess is it's a composite of photos taken from the same place at different times.

Your right he has taken a number of photos over a period of time.  When I posted the original I just though it was a neat photo not knowing anything about the photographer or Belchite Spain.

I started digging and look at this one.  Look up (Night in Belchite Spain by Carlos Santero) and there is a lot of different photos.
