Starsky and Hutch was my favorite TV show for MANY years, until 2001 when the Shield came out. Starsky carrying a S&W 59 in 1975 was certainly the coolest gun in the day. Pistolay
The gun that always catches my attention when I see it is Victor Maitland's S&W Model 629 in Beverly Hills Cop. It looks like he got a cannon in his hand.

Hutch packed a Smith snubby in the pilot episode, I believe a model 10. Starsky had a 1911. The next episode, Starsky used an SW model 59, which would be his primary sidearm for the rest of the show. Hutch used a 4" Python for a few episodes, then switched to a 6" Python. Yes, I have all 4 seasons on DVD, and I've gone through them several times.
