My male cat Durango is having urinary tract problems. Calcium particles develop in the bladder and sometimes plug the urethra. Not being able to pee is painful and if not corrected quickly can be fatal. This is more common in male cats and aging increases the probability. Durango is 9-1/2. Neutered as a kitten. This is his third bout with the blockage, the second within recent months. He will have surgery tomorrow to streamline his plumbing and hopefully eliminate the problem. Decades ago I had another male cat who developed the problem, had the surgery, and lived a normal lifespan. Hoping for equally good results for Durango.
