Sig P365X

Any experience with the Sig P365X?  I've seen some videos on it, and I think I may have to have this.  I've fired a lot of handguns, but never a Sig.  Unfortunately in my repressive state you can't rent nor try before you buy.  And nobody I know owns one.

Not the 365X but the base 365 with stainless slide. https://www.handgunhero.com/compare/sig-sauer-p365-vs-sig-sauer-p365x

Let me put it this way. I made the "mistake" of letting my son handle it. Now it's his. And my mind, ever since, has been working overtime to replace it with another one. Just waiting for a good deal, I got the stainless for $458.00 or sumpthin' like that.

If you are buying used, look for a SN starting in 66B. By that time all the kinks have been worked out.

Palmetto State Armory was one of the first sites I checked.  Out of stock everywhere online.  I took a chance and popped in to my local gun store, who happened to have one.  $458 is a great deal!  I believe MSRP is ~$680.  My LGS had $699 on the tag.  Thankfully I was able to talk them down, they knocked $72 off the price.  Could I have found it cheaper?  Probably.  But would have had to drive all over trying to find one and with gas at  or around $5/gal I would have easily used more in fuel than whatever savings I may have come across (assuming I would have found it cheaper).

Now, while waiting for the amendment paperwork nanny-state nonsense to go through (about two weeks, or so I was told), I've been obsessing over accessories for it.  Settled on a Holosun 407K-GR X2 for optics. My first foray into the world of open reflex optics on a handgun.

For a holster (normally I prefer OWB carry), I'm leaning towards a Tier 1 Axis Slim or Agis Elite.  This will be my first attempt at AIWB carry should I take this route.  Any suggestions on a decent holster would be graciously accepted.  :)

Looking forward to some range time with it!

Congrats! Not a bad price, btw. https://gun.deals/search/apachesolr_search/365x-9-bxr3

These days I mostly use a Safepacker holster. Most people don't like them, but they are fine for me. https://www.thewilderness.com/safepacker-concealment-holster/

When I carried IWB or AIWB, I used a Mika's pocket holster.  For a time, even with a S&W 1076. Again, fine for me. Those days are gone now.  https://mikaspocketholsters.com/product/pocket-holster/ So I can't give you contemporary suggestions for an AIWB holster.

I'm pretty sure you'll enjoy shooting your 365X. Smooth shooter, mine only needed a Hogue beavertail grip.

Congratulations on finding the one you were looking for.  Given what you've said about your state, that wasn't a foregone conclusion.

Seriously.  Our illustrious governor, being upset about the recent SCOTUS ruling making NY a shall issue state, decided to make concealed carry illegal about everywhere by naming everything a sensitive area.  Unless the establishment/business posts signs expressly permitting concealed carry, it's a no-go zone.  Waiting on a judge to rule on this after GOA brought suit.

*sigh*  I really can't wait to put this state in my rear view mirror permanently.
