The base for the VW car carrier was the VW T2 Pritche. They built a huge variety of these things, dump trucks, to canvas side cargo carriers, to boom trucks. They used the hell out of them.

Who remembers the Rabbit trucks?

That's what I have been wanting and waiting for, for years.

All the brands bring new "small" trucks out, and in the end they are still big ass soccer mom 4 door shits with a ton of stuff that breaks eventually and pushes the prices up.

I want a really small, single cab, long bed truck, like the Rabbit pickup or the old Toyota Hilux, maybe on a small frame and not unibody, leaf springs so you can throw 2,000 pounds in the bed without breaking anything, inline 4 diesel, manual trans, manual 4WD, lockable diff, no luxuries, easy to work on, for 25k max.

The closets I could come to is my 2018 RAM 1500 single cab long bed, 4WD, lockable diff, HEMI Tradesman (work truck). The right idea, but still way too big. At least I got it new for 26k. Sticker was 39k. Was siting on the lot for almost a year. Nobody wants single cabs anymore, let alone with long beds.
