Two great animals.  That reminds me of my Bullmastiff and cat.  They play like that too.  And to think that a BM has a bite force over 500 pounds....twice that of a pitbull.  Yet my girl Blue is so gentle.

It seems that large animals have just as much desire to interact with others as small animals.  However, they do appear to have a knowledge of "size", and the ability to control their actions to keep within reason relative to the other animal. 

My neighbor's 80 lb. Rotty would play with my 9lb. Yorkie (the Yorkie didn't realize he was a munchie) so the Rotty would walk when they played chase.

Even my daughter's 60 lb. Akita would play with the Yorkie, knowing the size and strength differential.  Maybe all are just as loveable, but the big one are more self aware.
