ARP
Can someone explain what was lost today? Was POTUS forced to throw in the towel? No. What has changed since day one of the shut down? Really nothing. In 21 days, we will resume this dance. In the mean time, construction continues on the existing border wall, along with enforcement efforts. Is there amnesty or extra greencards issued? No. So a record has been created as to what the Dz have turned down. More RINOS have been unmasked, and where they stand. So if after 21 days nothing is settled, POTUS exercises SOE as set forth in Constitution, uses money from DOD, and does the wall and rolls right over the Dz. It has been done 41 times before, we are not setting precedent here. No hand wringing about what if/when the Dz get back in charge, just roll forward. HE HAS THE EXPLICIT AUTHORITY. Some judge somewhere will pitch a bitch and say you can't do that. The hell with him. Build it. And all the other crap that was on the negotiating table is off the table. There is another card that may still be played in this game. It has to do with commerce, it has to do with a national sized industry and it WILL bring this country to a screeching halt, and no act of Congress can do anything about it. It has been done in the past and may be done in the future. I am hearing on or about April 1. A nationwide trucker strike by the independent truckers of the country. Plenty are tuned to SATRAD and listen to right leaning talk radio all day. Fuel trucks....there is on average 3 days worth the fuel in a service station tanks. Think of the food trucks. Think that won't get someones attention? Now mainly, the beef is about fuel cost and regulations, but others might be more than willing to add the border wall to the protest. Jammersix
Nothing was lost today. There was never a wall there to lose. He had two years where it was possible, now, as the Speaker has explained to him, there isn't a wall on the table.
