janice6 Posted September 19, 2020 Share Posted September 19, 2020 This country was built by people that wanted to be independent, they demanded independence. It's people refused to be told how to live their day to day lives. All throughout our American history, our people have demanded to be independent, and to do what they thought was best for them and their country. Our independence was fought for and secured by our forefathers and the Constitution. We have never, ever, as a people, demanded to be taken care of by our government. Government, has done some things to try to make us financially dependent on it. Our original existence was predicated by the proclamation that government was the servant of the people. We NEVER agreed to be servants of the government. Our Constitution guarantees us the power over our government, by even establishing our pre-ordained right to speak our minds, to conduct ourselves in our best interest without harm to our fellow citizens. To this end, we even have a right to be armed to change our government, if and when, necessary! We have never needed the government's permission to live our lives in a responsible and legal manner. Today, government, and a political party tell us that to be safe we must relinquish our freedoms and liberty to a nanny state, which in turn says that it will protect us from something it knows nothing about. Something it historically has never been able to control of eliminate, a virus.
