Walt Longmire
More beetle kill spruce that was knocked down in our recent wind storm out near my remote cabin. Big enough I have to run them through the log splitter. 5

FullClip
Around here, spruce ain't used too much for heating, but sure looks like there are some serious BTUs loaded up in the truck. A couple years ago when I bought the old camp next door, I took great pleasure in dropping the big beech that was just over the line from my place. Took a lot of fun cutting it up...hated dealing with the slash. Talk about a beech to split up. More knots than an sailing frigate...no splitter here. I don't cut enough to justify buying one, and renting means I got time constraints. I buy my wood cut and split, dumped at the end of the driveway. But even with two wedges and two mauls there are still some chunks too big to fit into the Ashley. Figure nobody is gonna steal them, so will deal with them later.

I tried to get her to look at me for the pic, but she just stared straight ahead. Women. Lol. She must have been pissed about something even though she was jazzed to go.
