janice6 Posted January 30, 2020 Share Posted January 30, 2020 (edited) On most of the lake map soundings done by the military in the 1940's, they used a lot of guess work. it was easier than being accurate. Now they just take a picture from a satellite. If they want 3D, they use two or more satellites at wide angles.
