One less threatening criminal is a good thing. One less cop willing to put himself between an innocent citizen and a criminal is a horrible trade for society. Especially while rushing to help members of their community who needs help. Somebody walking down the road looking at their cellphone getting hit by a bus, sad. Somebody walking down the road getting hit by a bus while trying to pull a 7 y.o. away from being run over by the bus... in the blink of an eye. Its all context.
