At a hotel,  that I've stayed in a couple of times each month, for many years,  a new lady at the check-in desk said they needed my cards security numbers.  (I always scratch out those numbers) I told her to jump in a lake.

Then she argued with me and said it was for my security;  if someone stole my card number,  it would be the only way for them to definitely verify it was mine (?).  I told her to jump into the highway out front.  She got wet-chicken mad,  but checked me in.

I went to the room and emailed the corporate website (didn't complain to the local manager -- might have been in on it).

When I went passed the desk an hour later,  there was a kerfuffle going on between several people,  of which the lady was one.

I never saw her again.
