This is Florida today; rained for more than 24 straight hours; from after midnight Sat until a few hours ago.

Watched some of the coverage of the Rolex 24 hour race at Daytona.  Looked like a monsoon.  Going to that event is on my bucket list, but glad I didn't go this year.

I have heard that a lot.  Only in an occupation with a high mortality rate.  After that, the only time I heard it was from an old overweight Mission Support Specialist that had diabetes and ate sugar like it was going out of style.  She also called it her "retirement plan."

will be 69 in March, still ride motorcycle, weather permitting. took my first ride in 1965.

have lost countless friends. some to accident, but most to various illnesses/disease.

better to grasp life by the throat and enjoy than end up with regrets. every day, every breath could be the last.

my mother talked about "when your father retires." she didn't make it. took care of herself, never smoked and drank rarely, watched her weight and walked. cancer still took her out, before the time mom and dad had planned to begin in earnest the "enjoy" part of life. 63 years old.

dad was a civil war historian  wanted to visit Gettysburg.

wanted a convertible two seat sports car. kept putting it off until it was too late.

spoke of those regrets on his death bed.

my bucket list is already very small.

recently took four granddaughters, ages 10, 11, and 12 to their first rock concert. two hour drive from home. they had a great time, and so did I! saw three great bands, HALESTORM, IN THIS MOMENT and NEW YEARS DAY. perhaps the bravest thing i have done in years!

NOT DONE YET! hope to wind up totally used up. do not want to leave before i finish that bucket list. lots of grandchildren to spoil.

oldest grandson just turned 18.

he finally decided it is time to learn about guns. wants to obtain his CCL.

I have work to do. many grandchildren have already had some lessons. many more will.

better cancer and slow death, or a screeching halt on a distant highway? I'll take my chances.

we don't get old and quit riding. we get old because we quit riding.

The race was stopped early and the Pro Bowl in Orlando had people leaving at half time.

Attention all Americans and all ships at sea!

Here in Frostbite Falls, the morning weathermen are hyperventilating because the National Weather Service has posted a "Winter storm warning!"

It begins at 4PM. Tomorrow. That's 36 hours! I've got far too many things to worry about to plan that far ahead! Because it's gonna snow. In late January. In Maine.

I need to find a job so I can have better stuff to bitch about. Frostbite Falls signing off.
