...because his son sit on the Minneapolis City Council.  Citing "conflict of Interest".

Now hows that for justice and cops following orders from politicians.

Beat your wife, or girlfriend and the cops refuse to investigate because you have family in high places.

We all know this crap goes on behind the scenes, but now the Minneapolis Police are saying it straight out and out loud.  We do not investigate those that have family in political positions that could make life difficult for us.

The Minneapolis Police Department announced Wednesday that it will not open an investigation into the domestic abuse allegations against Rep. Keith Ellison (D-MN), citing a “conflict of interest.

State Democrat Party officials requested the Minneapolis Police look into the allegations after an attorney hired by the state’s Democrat Party that Keith Ellison’s ex-girlfriend made.

The department said it would be referring the case to other law enforcement agencies because Keith Ellison’s son, Jeremiah, sits on the Minneapolis City Council.

“Due to a conflict of interest, or the appearance of a conflict of interest, the Minneapolis Police Department will not be handling the matter involving Congressman Keith Ellison,” the department said.

Without knowing the local politics, my first reaction is "can't blame MPD" because they seem like political pawns caught between a rock and a hard place.  MPD may have learned something from the recent FBI Kavanaugh investigation.

The state's Democrat Party go to the trouble of hiring an attorney to investigate and request MPD investigate domestic allegations against Keith Ellison, a Congressman?  And his son, Jeremiah, is on the Minneapolis City Council?

I'm sure there are plenty of other local and state LE agencies in MN capable of such investigations.

Bull ****.

There is no conflict of interest when a crime is committed and or reported.

Good thing for Ellison he is not a Republican; they would have hung him from a street light by now if he was.

Yesssir!  Politics plays no role.  An Investigation conducted by an unrelated LE agency not a good idea.    Got it!
