KBKEITH
The CQB version is interesting. I'm not sure if I like it as much as my loaded model but it's a hell of a lot of fun to shoot.

KBKEITH
Is that the squad version? I really like that look. I'd like to buy a factory stock to swap out on my CQB.

If you like this don't get a factory stock, there are plenty of the old GI fiberglass stocks out there. They are more rigid and will be more accurate. The wood stocks work well too. You can refinish the wood or repaint the fiberglass to your liking. Edited August 30, 2017 by Sniffler

So if the best way to go is an old GI stock would you know of a good source offhand? Fiberglass or wood, both are good with me.

You can pick up a good fiberglass stock for $80 up and some just need sanding and painting. Many wood stocks avaiable also. If money is no object https://mcmillanusa.com/mcmillan-rifle-stocks/tactical-stocks-m1a/ http://agcomposites.com/shop/rifle-stocks/classic_m1a_m14/ These are bad ass. Carbon fiber and rigid but pricey. Edited August 30, 2017 by Sniffler

Smith10
Man some nice guns in this thread. The wood stocks remind of the tanker garands.
Administrators Eric Posted August 31, 2017 Administrators Share Posted August 31, 2017 I'm not a fan of the shortened actions. This is what an M-1A should look like: Or maybe this: If your M-1A looks like anything else, go call your parents and tell them you are failures as M-1A owners and for God's sake, send me those bastardized rifles so I can rehabilitate them and release them back into the wild.

Why on gods green earth, would you waste a Ziess scope, on that rifle? I agree, the shortened versions are abortions, but scoping a M-14 was like trying to make a silk purse out of a pigs butt.
