As I recall, the length of copyrights must be extended once more or some Mickey Mouse will slide over into public domain. Has this extension been made?

The copyright for Steamboat Willie will expire on January 1, 2024.

After 2024, Disney won't have any copyright protection for Mickey's original incarnation. But Disney will still own copyrights for later incarnations of the character—and it will also own Mickey-related trademarks.

That's a very good article, detailed, legally correct.

Don't know if the extension has already been made. But it's a safe bet it will.
