pipedreams
"The Justice Department on Tuesday announced it is suing Walmart, accusing the company of helping to fuel the U.S. opioid crisis by unlawfully distributing controlled substances at its pharmacies around the country. The department's lawsuit alleges that for years, Walmart's pharmacies unlawfully filled thousands of prescriptions for opioids without required care and investigation, including prescriptions pharmacists knew were suspect." https://abcnews.go.com/Business/justice-department-sues-walmart-alleging-helped-fuel-opioid/story?id=74865087

Seems the government would have to prove these “rogue” pharmacists were acting under orders from higher up - in fact maybe all the way to the top - else it’s individual criminal behavior. Is DOJ short of money for top level bonuses and fishing for a “no admission of guilt lets put this diversion behind us” settlement and fine to get money for those bonuses? if Walmart loses or settles, the ads will go out “If you think you received opioids from Walmart [and need some cash] contact the law firm of DC&H.”
