I still think they should be sent right outside Nancy Pelosi's mansion.  There is nothing preventing the POTUS from ordering that.  ICE policy for the rank and file is they need to be released in a safe place where they have access to transportation, communications, and food.  That is policy, not law.  Policy does not apply to the POTUS.  Law does.  So, legally, he can dump all over sanctuary cities.  Frankly, sanctuary cities deserved what they get.  It is one way to get the message across.

If the requirements are transportation, food, and communication, why can't they just be dumped back across the border in Mexico?  They obviously had all those things on the other side of the border if they're showing up overweight with cell phones.

Immigration Law dwarfs the Bible in size, and is about or more complicated than tax law.  Some people get asylum, and then are granted a bond.  Some go before an Immigration Judge and get Temporary Protective Status (TPS), some get status under the Violence Against Women's Act (VAWA), There is a myriad of reason illegal aliens (Mexicans are a fraction of that population), are released.  A lot of it has to do with the fact that Trump hasn't abrogated the Obama illegal Executive Orders (illegally legislating from the Executive when Congress wouldn't do what he wanted.)  So DACA or "Dreamers" rules are also still in play.  Personally, I think they need an alarm call and get the F out.  I wish we could do that with Palestinians.  If you want to find a Palestinian population, go to Houston and throw a rock.  We have problems on American campuses due to the Palestinian Hamas influence.  Why?  Israel isn't dumb enough to ask for more of them.  So, there are a long list and myriad of reasons people are released from custody.  If you have the opportunity to confuse the hell out of yourself, get a full copy of the INA (Immigration and Nationality Act), if you can find one on the net and prepare to have your mind blown.  There is even a section how and where delegates can park when attending the UN.  Then there is a smaller leaflet book on the myriad of ways a person can obtain citizenship during different phases of laws passed by Congress.  Putting a Boeing Aircraft together is far more straight forward.
