Socialism = Control

Let's keep it simple.

Socialism equates to collective ownership and management of property. Control by the state.

Compare it to monopolistic capitalism. Where no competition is the standard, by an individual or a corporation.

Teddy Roosevelt was right.

The one that worries me the most is Francis Martin AKA "Beto" O'Rorkle.  Just because someone nicknamed him "Beto" as a nickname does not him Hispanic make.  Speaking Spanish does not an Hispanic make, or I would be one.  It is like growing up in Brooklyn and the old lady up stairs thinks your a cute kid and calls you "Bubela" does not a Jew make.  The trouble is, he likes to jump up on bar tables, and speak to empty headed millennials about his nothing policies, that they seem to adore.  He is like the Seinfeld Show, only with a campaign about nothing.  He tries say all the buzz phrases they like.  But, he is simply an Obama in white skin.

But what if he identifies as a "bubbeleh"? ?

As to "Beto", I wonder if it's a nickname that he gave himself or proposed by peers.   Haven't read an explanation one way or the other.

Have read about his open-borders mishmash. According to it, if 2 billion of the earth's residents are "deserving" we should allow them in. So, let's go from 330 million to 2,330,000,000. Yeah, that's the ticket! Let it all hang out! It's the American way...

Another thought about "Beto".

There's a difference between those who identify as someone or something that they are not. Those are commonly referred to as crackpots.

And those who have an empathetic connection with others. Those are commonly referred as human beings.

And then there are those who can't tell the difference even if it hit them squarely on the face. Those are commonly referred to as Dems.

A cute little kid?  It would not surprise me if he was talking 18 year old people, whatever generation that is called these days.  It was a nickname give by peers.  Like when I was a skinny kid in Tucson, I had an Hispanic kid call me "chango" or "Monkey."  Ironically, my nickname for my son.  Having a nickname given to you by some other ethnicity does not make you that ethnicity.   I have been called a lot of thing over the years, some repeatable in mixed company a lot not.  Some of it by my own parents.  I remember my mother got irritated and went off on me one day as young kid and call me a little SOB.  I agreed with her, and she said, you got me there.

Well, everyone wants to get a "popular" socially approved ethnicity and make it their own.  No one wants to be the unpopular one's hated by society on purpose..  Hell, I would have rather been Irish or even black, compared to what got handed me.  But, my luck if I were black I would end up with cycle cell.  :)  But, Elizabeth Warren wants to be Native American, Francis wants to be Hispanic.  My Spanish is better than his, when he speaks it, it makes my ears bleed.  You would think someone who in theory learned Spanish on the Border would have an accent.  When I speak Spanish I do so with Mexican accent, because that is the majority of the people I interacted with for five years.  So, when I went to a Latin American Country elsewhere they accused me of being a white Mexican, which exist due to the influx of Germans after World War I and II, and mainly stay in the State of Montemorelos.  Francis is not one.  I have listened to him speak, it is just awful.  It is like listening to my wife who has better grammar than I do, speaking it with a Minnesota accent.  It is just painful.

I believe that if you want someone, or some group/s, to give you something instead of your "earning" it, you have to give up something for it.  Nothing is free.  So the process is that the more you want something for nothing (be it, possessions, adoration, acceptance, whatever) the more you must pay for it by giving up more of what you have, such as your ability to decide things for yourself.

Eventual, this road leads to others being in control of you and making decisions for you that you were unwilling to make for yourself.  There are many names for this control over you, but the result is still the same.  You will have little or no part in decisions being made that directly effect you, you have been made subservient to others wants and needs at the expense of your own.  That is the price for receiving something for nothing.

There are many people who, for some reason, fear making life's decisions because they fear the unknown if they make a "bad" decision.  Everyday life is nothing but a continuing stream of decisions you have to make, and every one effects your "quality of life" (some even the quantity of life).  There is the group that fears the responsibility for making these decisions, then there is the group that accepts the responsibility for making life's decisions.  The latter have a commitment towards a long term goal, and recognize that to reach it they must be in control of their progress to it.  The former only live for the day.

I don't know how these people learn to fear taking control of their own life and actively directing it to some goal.  Maybe they have no goal, so the direction is immaterial to them and their only focus is on what they have, not the price they have to pay for it.  But the fact remains that these people fear the decision making process so much that they are willing to give this control away to others.

The people that take your right to make decisions upon themselves, only direct everything for their own benefit.  After all, you cared so little for that which would benefit you, that you were willing to give it away.  It's a small step from giving away your choices in life, to giving away your life itself.  It's so easy to let others control your life that it quickly has no value to others before you realize that this is the price you paid for not being willing to control your life yourself.

I believe that there are only two groups of people in the world, those that want to be controlled, and those who do not want to be controlled.  Politically it is like the Frog in the pan of water, control is assumed over the Frog because the Frog at first sees no penalty for being in the pan, only the nice warm environment.  When the Frog realizes that the water in going to boil, it is too late and he pays the price for not making the decision as to whether or not he would go into the pan.

Meanwhile, those in control of the Frog have a meal provided by the Frogs unwillingness to control his own life.  There are many bad people in this world, but the largest group are politicians.  These are people that see politics as the easiest means to gain control and live an easier life by controlling others.  They have the goal of control in return for making your decisions for you.

Of course, you never want the Frog to have the means to defend itself, otherwise few, if any Frogs, go into the pan and you quickly regret trying to force your control over the Frog.  Not all Frogs will resist, but enough will have the means, that you have to be careful that you don't push them too far.  This is the means that the Frogs have to control politicians.

If you don't control your life, someone else will!

I'm OK with it as long as everybody gets a participation trophy.

SAIS is a lot more than political science. It's a mix of anthropology, science, sociology, economics, psychology, history, languages, with a dash of domestic science. It's OK if you don't want to either confirm or deny. I understand. ?

The Blue J is the mascot.

Beto's at it again:

The unprecedented concentration of wealth, power and privilege in the United States must be broken apart. Opportunity must be fully shared with all. We must all have the opportunity to succeed. Together. As one country.

Life's good when your father-in-law is a billionaire. And exempt from sharing with all.

And the maid dubbed thee "Beto" with her magic cleaning confers upon thee ,Robert Francis O'Rourke the sobre nombre  of "Beto" O'Rourke and conveys the race of Hispanic and you renounce the prior Irish-ness from your body and soul.  Go forth and speak Spanish like a college prep boy who never obtained anything but a Middle American Acent, "Ho-la, po-demos tra-tra-er trabajarnos Jun"toes," This message has been brought to by the Beto O'Rourke campaign, of I am really, not another white guy trying to get elected through the power of bullshit and nonsense.  Apparently, later he will light a doobie peace pipe with Warren, while talking about the horrors of Vietnam with Blumenthal.

Aren't we glad--- and oh so fortunate, that we live in a time where both Beto and AOC walk the earth?

I mean, the ground they walk on instantly turns holy...

I mean, the air they breathe instantly turns fragrant...

I mean, the food they eat instantly turns...

You're close about the "fragrance".  To an idiot, a fool sounds like a genius.
