There was no guarantee or even likelihood he would ever be tapped for SCOTUS. Sorry, I'm not buying it. Perhaps "something" happened between the two? Maybe. If I had to guess, she is giving an incomplete or embellished version of what happened. Likewise, we are talking about both of them being juveniles with alcohol involved. Where are the complaints from the last 35+ years of his interactions with many other women. Rarely does the senate think logically though. This is pure politics now. Repressed memories have been debunked as science. It is my understanding that Fienstien and Ford are both refusing to speak to Grassely. They are claiming foul in that Grassley is "rushing" the process without and before the FBI has a chance to investigate. The plan is to discredit the "process" and the Re[publicans for rushing the vote. This "plan" may indeed send a few losers like Flake and Collins over to the "NO" camp. Flake is siding with Fienstien saying the Republicans are unfairly rushing the vote. He appears to be a strong NO vote if the Democrats do not get their way. The accuser is someone who just happened to be at the right place at the right time to disrupt the confirmation hearings an has close ties to the party opposing the nomination and now that party is trying to delay her testimony in order to run out the clock. Interview Kavanaugh one-on-one for a long time in your office. Don't bring up the letter or its allegation. Then, when the hearings are finished, drop the bomb and cry foul about the rushed process. Even if Democrats lose, they win with their constituents. Low Information Voters only will hear the process was rushed, Kavanaugh was rammed through, Democrats who are on the fence have the cover to vote "no", and Kavanaugh is illegitimate, like Trump, who was put into the office by Putin. Katz at first said ‘victim’ Christine Blasey was willing to testify to the Senate Judiciary Committee. Then she said it had to be an open session. Then it was closed session. Now she will only testify after an FBI probe. The FBI said they already did their investigation of Kavanaugh and will not do another. A 36-year-old case of two alcohol-imbibing teens without evidence cannot be probed, and, if it could be, which it can’t, it would be the police, not the FBI who would do it. Her story does not ring true I was sexually molested at age 8 and at age 10. I remember all the details, the year, and the man who did it. It has been 63 years since the first assault. I am not traumatized and wasn’t 36 years after the fact. Maybe Blasey was assaulted in high school but I don’t believe Judge Kavanaugh did it. It’s not the kind of character flaw that appears one time, never to show up again. If Dems found it credible, they would probably have been blasting it over the media for months. Why did a college professor report it via a tip line at the Washington Post, then send a letter to her representative, and expect it to remain secret? Why hire a lawyer in August and take a polygraph [which is not a lie detector test by the way] in August? We have zero details about the test and it’s only a general measure which cannot be used in court. It was Katz’s buddies who administered it and it’s Katz who said she did well. Why did the leftist Blasey Ford hire a far-left, Soros-tied lawyer? Who is paying for all this? It’s another Democrat hit job so they get to keep killing babies on demand. She came up with a story that can’t be disproven Nothing worked in trying to eliminate Kavanaugh so they came up with a 36-year-old story that cannot possibly be disproven. Accusations and charges of everything from racism to white supremacy. Then afterwards, it all quietly goes away. vote Kavernaugh to the court. Then subpoena Ford to testify and investigate the slander/liable. Charge her and anybody involved with an effort to obstruct and conspire to slander a nominee. Let’s see her texts, let’s see her emails pertaining to this committee. The D’crooks will scream about victim blaming, attacking women, metoo, etc. but letting this crap go and then dropped after the vote is getting sickening.
