pipedreams
"It’s no secret that Social Security needs reform. The program was instituted by FDR and have received little improvements since then. We’ve all heard stories about people who abuse the program. Many get benefits they don’t deserve." From The Philadelphia Inquirer: The new rule would change aspects of disability reviews — the methods by which the Social Security Administration determines whether a person continues to qualify for benefits… The proposed rule change would create a fourth category: “Medical Improvement Likely,” which would mandate disability reviews every two years, creating an additional 2.6 million reviews over the first 10-year period. https://gopdailybrief.com/trump-ss-rule-drain/ https://www.inquirer.com/news/social-security-ssi-ssdi-trump-administration-disability-20191212.html?utm_campaign=Daily+News+Twitter+Account&cid=Daily+News+Twitter+Account&utm_source=t.co&utm_medium=social
Dric902
The personnel it takes to complete a review is numerous this doesn’t drain the swamp, it increases it by ordering even more reviews and giving the same benefits over again .
pipedreams
This was posted on another site. I remember when they decided that to claim a child exemption a SS number needed to be put down for each dependent 5 years old and older on a tax return. The very next year there were 7 MILLION less dependents claimed LOL. Imagine if a photo ID was required to vote. https://www.latimes.com/archives/la-xpm-1989-12-11-me-33-story.html A funny thing happened in 1987 when, for the first time, the Internal Revenue Service required taxpayers to list the Social Security numbers for children age 5 and over they were claiming as dependents. What happened is that about 7 million children simply vanished--at least from tax returns. 2
