It isn't a good wedding unless the police are involved...

So my uncle was getting married again today (this will be his 4th marriage).

Downtown Olympia kind of sucks for parking.  Especially near the waterfront.  The area has back in only angled parking.

The bride found an open parking spot, did some type of a 3 point turn to get facing the correct direction to back into the parking spot, but as she was attempting to back up she almost backed into another vehicle that she hadn't seen when she started.  Ended up driving around the block and finding a different spot.

As she was going to the bridal suite to start getting ready, the person who was in the car she nearly backed into got into her face about it.  Started making all sorts of accusations about it including, my favorite one, is that the bride must be racist for not seeing the other vehicle.  The entrance to the bridal suite is apparently the same entrance as the yoga studio upstairs, where the other woman was going.

How in the f@#$ can you be a racist for not even seeing the other person?  Don't you have to see the other person and know that they are a different race than you before you can demonstrate bias against them due to race?  

The woman continued to block her way and just be a general nuisance until the local police were called.  They escorted her out of the area.  

 

Other than that the wedding was uneventful, which is good.  Got to see a cousin that moved away a few years back and only visits rarely, and talk to other family that I just don't see much and catch up on news.  Bad news was that an old friend of the family passed away on Christmas due to medical issues.  Good guy, an old bachelor farmer that also repaired old tractors and such.  Good guy.
