stevekozak
I think CF would say tax evasion is a vitimless crime. (Is CF over here?)
janice6
Like jaywalking. I think Jay walking can cause a property loss and potentially injury to others since the Jaywalker may cause a driver to unexpectedly try to avoid them and endanger other cars or pedestrians in the process. Jay walking is putting yourself and others in danger in a street. The victim may not be you, but the driver that might hit you because you are in a traffic place without warning and not a pedestrian place. Many things may happen which cause an accident that might not have happened if you had followed the proper guidelines when mixing people unexpectedly with cars. A Jaywalker can be the cause of an automobile accident without being involved themselves. Just by causing vehicles to do unexpected maneuvers to avoid the Jaywalker.
Dave514
"Victimless" crimes. I do not believe there is such a thing. Where does 'smoking a joint' fall in this regard?

Taco Junkie
A corporation can't be a victim, because in the minds of the left and the media, as cruel oppressors of the downtrodden deserving poor, anything you take from them is not only not a crime, but simple justice. The more extreme apply that same logic to white people and "rich" people. (Rich = doesn't pay a spend down every month to the county.) Funny how they don't apply that logic to corporations like Google, Amazon and their beloved MSM channels.

Perhaps a better way to look at this would be to use the terms "specific victim crimes" and "non-specific/potential victim crimes." When someone's home is burglarized they are a specific victim and can show damage and/or loss. Jaywalking (which may be a civil infraction instead of a crime) is the kind of crime that is prohibited because while there may not always be a victim, there certainly is a potential for someone to end up with damage, and possibly even injury - both the driver and, of course, more usually the pedestrian. Prostitution may not have a person who can show a specific monetary loss because of a specific incident of prostitution, but neighborhoods may feel a monetary effect over time by loss of business and a decline in property values.
