Hook
So my sisters husband died back in February and she wants to give a gun back that i gave him for some car work he did for me. Only problem is he has two of the same guns. No we didnt do a receipt now i wish i would of. I am almost sure which gun is the one i gave him from the serial number but i want to be sure. So how can i go about finding out if i did purchase that gun? I have been googling but am coming up with nothing. What would you guys do? Thanks for any help. crockett
Did you ever take a photo of that gun? Maybe posted that photo? It may show the SN. The manufacturer may know the production time frame based on the serial numbers and they may help you to narrow it down. The original dealer is supposed to keep records for the ATF. Hook
Nope no photo. I was thinking about taking the serial number to the place I’m sure I bought it from and see if they can tell me anything. I know I sent it back to smith and Wesson to remove the safety. I wonder if they would tell anything.
