nitesite
...that the cylinder and barrel were "very nearly" too hot to touch. Almost scorching! Anyone else run a revolver so fast that it got hot enough you almost needed to let go? Ammo was factory Winchester 125-gr .357 Magnum JSPs @ 1425-fps I loved that the moon clips and empty brass lust jumped right out even though really HOT. Today's shooting was just one of my regular APOST Qual's and I just shot as fast as I could as soon as the sights got back on target.
Boogieman
In days of old Jerry Miculek and I shot at the same range (and Max Michel Jr). He would come in with two buckets. One empty and the other full of reloads. In an hour he had one empty bucket and the other full of fired brass. His Model 27 would be so hot he couldn't set it down on the plastic bench. It would melt. No moon clips. But it didn't seem to slow him down any.
Boogieman
BTW Nothing like going to a steel plate match with you red dot equipped compensated Super 38 racegun, a match that requires a reload, and getting whipped buy a guy with an iron sighted revolver. 1

I saw him win a steel plate match with a custom chopped down Ruger Security Six. Drawing from his back pocket.
Collim1
My SS revolvers get too hot to handle without gloves after a quick 48 rounds with Comp III speedloaders. My carbon steel wheelguns don’t seem to heat up near as quickly.
