  1. Wonder if this has been posted before ... I'll find out in 3 .. 2 ..
  2. I love this dude and his music. One of the most loved and admired Hawaiians ever. Israel "IZ" Kamakawiwoʻole. Born 5.20.1959. I’ve loved this dude every since I heard his version of "Over The Rainbow" the first time by accident. Most people, on first glance, wouldn't give him a second glance because most of us don't listen to a lot of "Hawaiian" music. It's a unique culture and only a small minority of Americans/Humans have lived their culture. Anyway, I heard this song and I went and watched some videos about "IZ" and I was unfortunate (sarc) enough to get to a video of his 'funeral' which was a burial at sea. I think the whole of Hawaii was at that celebration. His music, so different from any other music I listen to, inspires and motivates me to try and be a better person when others allow me. Music moves us in mysterious ways and for some reason that I have no theory for, I feel some kind of a connection to IZ and his music. "One race, brah .... the human" (Iz) which is significant given today's insanity.

  4. On May 20, 1873, San Francisco businessman Levi Strauss and Reno, Nevada, tailor Jacob Davis are given a patent to create work pants reinforced with metal rivets, marking the birth of one of the world’s most famous garments: blue jeans. In San Francisco, Strauss established a wholesale dry goods business under his own name and worked as the West Coast representative of his family’s firm. His new business imported clothing, fabric and other dry goods to sell in the small stores opening all over California and other Western states to supply the rapidly expanding communities of gold miners and other settlers. By 1866, Strauss had moved his company to expanded headquarters and was a well-known businessman and supporter of the Jewish community in San Francisco. Jacob Davis, a tailor in Reno, Nevada, was one of Levi Strauss’ regular customers. In 1872, he wrote a letter to Strauss about his method of making work pants with metal rivets on the stress points, at the corners of the pockets and the base of the button fly, to make them stronger. As Davis didn’t have the money for the necessary paperwork, he suggested that Strauss provide the funds and that the two men get the patent together. Strauss agreed enthusiastically, and the patent for “Improvement in Fastening Pocket-Openings”, the innovation that would produce blue jeans as we know them, was granted to both men on May 20, 1873. Strauss brought Davis to San Francisco to oversee the first manufacturing facility for “waist overalls,” as the original jeans were known. At first they employed seamstresses working out of their homes, but by the 1880s, Strauss had opened his own factory. The famous 501 brand jean, known until 1890 as “XX”, was soon a bestseller, and the company grew quickly. By the 1920s, Levi’s denim waist overalls were the top selling men’s work pant in the United States. As decades passed, the craze only grew, and for years blue jeans were worn and beloved by men and women, young and old, around the world. Then in 2020, the Levi Strauss Co. lost it’s mind and decided that it should offend all the straight people on the planet and started pushing radical liberal ideology and I hope they eventually suffer financially and go broke.
  5. On May 20, 1969, after 10 days and 10 bloody assaults, Hill 937 in South Vietnam, located one mile east of the Laotian border, is finally captured by U.S. and South Vietnamese troops as part of Operation Apache Snow, a mission intended to limit enemy infiltration from Laos that threatened Hue to the northeast and Danang to the southeast. The Americans who fought there cynically dubbed Hill 937 “Hamburger Hill” because the battle and its high casualty rate reminded them of a meat grinder. Almost 100 Americans were killed and more than 400 wounded in taking the hill, amounting to a shocking 70 percent casualty rate.
  6. On May 20, 1956, the United States conducts the first airborne test of an improved hydrogen bomb, dropping it from a plane over the tiny island of Namu in the Bikini Atoll in the Pacific Ocean. (Because of the time difference, it was already May 21st in the Bikini Atoll.)The successful test indicated that hydrogen bombs were viable airborne weapons and that the arms race had taken another giant leap forward. The United States began testing nuclear weapons at Bikini Atoll in 1946. However, early bombs were large and unwieldy affairs that were exploded from the ground. The practical application of dropping the weapon over an enemy had been a mere theoretical possibility until a successful test in May 1956. The hydrogen bomb dropped over Bikini Atoll was carried by a B-52 bomber and released at an altitude of more than 50,000 feet. The device exploded at about 15,000 feet. This bomb was far more powerful than those previously tested and was estimated to be 15 megatons or larger (one megaton is roughly equivalent to 1 million tons of TNT). Observers said that the fireball caused by the explosion measured at least four miles in diameter and was brighter than the light from 500 suns. The successful U.S. test meant that the ante in the nuclear arms race had been dramatically upped. The Soviets had tested their own hydrogen bomb in 1953, shortly after the first U.S. test in 1952. In November 1955, the Soviets had dropped a hydrogen bomb from an airplane in remote Siberia. Though much smaller and far less powerful (estimated at about 1.6 megatons) than the U.S. bomb dropped over Bikini, the Russian success spurred the Americans to rush ahead with the Bikini test. The massive open-air blast in 1956 caused concerns among scientists and environmentalists about the effects of such testing on human and animal life. During the coming years, a growing movement in the United States and elsewhere began to push for a ban on open-air atomic testing. The Limited Test Ban Treaty, signed in 1963 by the United States, the Soviet Union, and Great Britain, prohibited open-air and underwater nuclear testing.

  8. Increased testosterone levels can cause Democrats to become more conservative in their political affiliation, a recent experiment analyzing voters in U.S. elections found. The study – Testosterone Administration Induces A Red Shift in Democrats, was published on November 14th, 2021 by Professor Paul Zak, the Director of the Center for Neuroeconomics Studies at Claremont Graduate University. “His research has made a substantial impact in explaining the variation in human social behaviors and has been cited by other scholars over 18,000 times placing in the top 0.3% of all scholars,” explains his professional biography. Zak’s latest findings reveal a link between testosterone levels and political preference through analyzing 136 voting-age males throughout the 2012 election season. “Our results demonstrate that testosterone induces a “red shift” among weakly-affiliated Democrats,” summarized the paper. Researchers administered synthetic testosterone or placebo to participants who previously disclosed their political affiliations, allowing researchers to track how the hormone affected participants’ politics. “When weakly affiliated Democrats received additional testosterone, the strength of their party fell by 12 percent and they reported 45 percent warmer feelings towards Republican candidates for president,” explained the study. “Before the testosterone treatment, we found that weakly affiliated Democrats had 19 percent higher basal testosterone than those who identified strongly with the party,” the study continues, reiterating the correlation between individuals with lower testosterone having left-wing political beliefs. While the effects of testosterone waned with individuals who were staunch Democrats or weak Republicans, “our findings provide evidence that neuroactive hormones affect political preferences,” posits the study. The study comes amidst an ongoing discussion about declining testosterone levels in the U.S. and mainstream media outlets such as The New York Times attacking Fox News host Tucker Carlson for addressing the issue in a recent documentary. https://www.openicpsr.org/openicpsr/project/155441/version/V1/view https://thenationalpulse.com/2022/05/18/ncreased-testosterone-levels-turns-voters-more-conservative/
  9. 1946 - Lincoln Continental Coupe V12 This V12 coupe is in excellent condition inside and out. This beauty has been pampered all its life and it shows. The car is extremely rare, as it is one of only 265 Continental coupes built in 1946. All correct with a 305ci and 3-speed with overdrive. It is essentially a hand-built luxury car and one of the most expensive domestic cars for the year. This has been a Southwest car for almost all its life. It was purchased by a collector in the 1980s, when it was put away in his collection of over 200 collector cars, never to be driven or see daylight until a short time ago. The beautiful interior is the correct red leather and gray whipcord material. There was recently thousands spent on the car mechanically to make it run and drive well again after its many years of storage.
  10. I never did understand the moronic 'elf' thing but this is funny.
  11. Despite White House's Denials, Federal Tax-Payer Funded Drug-Use "Harm Reduction" Packages Do Contain Crack Pipes The White House lied about this before, and they just lied about it again. Incidentally, it wasn't just the White House, and Jenny Pflapjacks, lying about this. All of the "journalists" of the leftwing media and "pfactcheckers" checked zero pfacts but pronounced Jenny Pflapjacks to be telling the truth about the crackpipes. But Free Beacon did what "Real Journalists" don't dare to do -- they left their homes, departed their computer screens, and actually entered The Real World to put their hands on real, physical objects that exist in the real world. And they found the "harm reduction kits" in five east coast cities do in fact contain crack pipes. And what are the "Real Journalists" (who read Twitter all ******* day long) and "pfact checkers" (who check no facts) going to say now? Yes, Safe Smoking Kits Include Free Crack Pipes. We Know Because We Got Them. Free Beacon Investigates: Five cities, five free crack pipes Crack pipes are distributed in safe-smoking kits up and down the East Coast, raising questions about the Biden administration's assertion that its multimillion-dollar harm reduction grant program wouldn't funnel taxpayer dollars to drug paraphernalia. The findings are the result of Washington Free Beacon visits to five harm-reduction organizations and calls to over two dozen more. In fact, every organization we visited, facilities in Boston, New York City, Washington, D.C., Baltimore, and Richmond, Va., included crack pipes in the kits. The kits became the subject of national attention in the wake of a Free Beacon report in February indicating that a $30 million harm-reduction program was set to fund the distribution of free crack pipes in "safe-smoking kits." Pressed on the matter in a Feb. 9 press briefing, White House press secretary Jen Psaki issued a full-throated denial. "They were never a part of the kit, it was inaccurate reporting," Psaki said of the pipes. "A safe smoking kit may contain alcohol swabs, lip balm, other materials to promote hygiene and reduce the transmission of diseases." But the Free Beacon went out to the centers distributing the kits, and found crack pipes in most of them. And even in the ones that didn't contain crack pipes, the centers told them they wanted to include crack pipes, but they weren't available for purchase. The Free Beacon's findings contradict claims from a raft of fact-checkers who, based on the White House's ex-post-facto denial, deemed the Free Beacon's reporting false. A USA Today headline asking, "What's inside a safe smoking kit?" answered: "No, it's not a crack pipe." The outlet based its fact-check solely on the administration's denial and does not appear to have done any additional research on safe smoking kits. The author, Michelle Shen, did not respond to a request for comment. All she did was take the White House's denial and "report" it as "fact." The Free Beacon has pictures of the crack pipes and all the contents of the "harm reduction kits." Are the pfact checkers going to claim that the pictures are photoshopped? Will they ever leave their ******* basements to ever do any actual reporting in the real world? Answer: No. Pflapjacks Jenny is again denying that there are crack pipes in the kits despite physical proof of the crack pipes in the kits. She also says that the pictures of crack pipes in the kits constitute a "conspiracy theory." That's an important word, because that's one of the pre-textual reasons the Biden Administration and its Ministry of Truth uses to demand that the social media monopolies it controls either delete or suppress negative stories they don't like, or slap a CONTENT WARNING on them claiming the stories are "MISSING CONTEXT" or are otherwise likely false. We have the crackpipes, Jen The President's press secretary is calling critical reporting about her admin a "conspiracy theory" in a blatant attempt to get the coverage pulled from social media/memoryhole. Earnestly authoritarian. And yes, this nasty, ugly double troll is using that word deliberately. This gangster government is always invoking "conspiracy theories" and "disinformation" and "harm" and "threat to public health" when they want the social media monopolies they control to kill stories that are politically harmful to them.
