I don't know. I know that modern F1 engines are limited electronically to a redline of 15,000rpm. That is still crazy high.

They tried some crazy stuff, just to see what would stick. They still do. My favorite sounding F1 cars are the V-12s and V-10s.

In light of the lamentable, often bizarre nature of the modern day ‘news’, how about a new TBS tradition: An annual Bore Site WHO Gives A **** award. Let’s nominate a dozen or so ‘news’ stories to be voted on for the first annual WGaS award. Post your nominations here. Once we have a dozen or so good candidates, I’ll post them in a poll thread and we can vote on a winner. I am going to start things off by nominating the news coverage of Johnny Depp’s divorce. Really, who gives a ****? Keep it going.

The BRM P75 H16 engine, which was essentially two boxer 8-cylinder engines stacked, geared together. That's a hell of a lot of complexity to make 400hp, but it is an interesting design.
