I've driven those.

The one based on a mini-cooper spends a lot of time in the back lot of my(former) place of employment.  It's 1 of 1.  Not sure how many large ones there are, but I'd guess somewhere from 6-10 or so.

Worked on them for 17 years.  They suck.  LOTS of fabricated and oddly-rigged stuff on them.  The bodies on the large ones cost about a mil apiece.

Fun to drive though, get lots of attention.

I used to see the mini based one at the Bentonville pubic library some.

The photo of the wienermobile  spun out on the road was taken in Pennsylvania in February 2008.

The weinermobiles are built on the GMC W-series chassis with the 300-6000 V8 and previously used the Ram 1500 series frame with the 5.2L Magnum V8

And what's next? A wienercycle and a wienerdrone.

I regret not applying for a job as a blimp attendant. That was 20 years ago.

Is that one of the guys on the ground?  No thanks.

I could see my dumbass being the last to let go and hanging from the rope as the thing flew across the sky......

Ayep.  One of them guys.  I figure the main goal is to learn to let go of the rope before you get more than a few feet off the ground.

I just looked.  They want a person with a 4-year degree in journalism with a background in public relations.

Strangely.  I am vastly qualified.

I used to pull off the interstate on blustery days to watch them try to land the Goodyear in N. Houston.

The dang thing would be almost vertical,  it's engines screaming full blast,  trying to drive it's nose into the ground while the ground crew scrambled around trying to catch and hold the ropes.

A gust would come,  it would lift and spin,  and sling rope-guys all over the field.  They'd jump up and run after the ropes again.

I'd leave, after watching for an hour,  and they had made zero progress.
