Dems block another GOP attempt to pay federal workers

Democrats just voted – for the second time – to kill an effort that would have provided federal workers with their first paycheck of the year.

 

Last week, Republicans voted in favor of an MTR that would have provided the paychecks they earned through January 15. Only six Democrats crossed party lines to support it.Today, the number of Democrats joining us in our second attempt to pay federal workers jumped to 11 as more of them panic over Nancy Pelosi’s failed shutdown strategy. 

 

This is further evidence of the Democrats’ refusal to work across the aisle to provide relief to the 800,000 federal workers. They are completely obsessed with telling this President no, regardless of the damage it does to our country or individuals who just need to get paid.

I know it's a sore spot for you, but owning the shutdown means he owns the bad things that go with it. Like federal workers not getting paid.

He couldn't get his wall built with a republican congress, he isn't going to get it with a split congress.

Trump can play his cards right.  Unfortunately, he reacts, before he thinks.  That has come to bite him every time. Once the shutdown is over, he can propose back pay and a 10 percent raise.  If the Dems say "No."  They just hung themselves by their own petard, and he comes out clean.

Articles about the Shutdown.  Comments sections are usually by trolls, pissed off people during the shutdown, and jubilant non-essentials who love shutdowns because it amounts to a free vacation, and they typically get double paid by their prospective States for being laid off.  So, non-essentials (people who don't carry a firearm for a living), get paid for not being there, and paid again by being laid off.  The one's that put themselves in harms way everyday, are the one's that get the screw job.
