pipedreams
There not Pelicans but nice cases with ability to lock. https://www.harborfreight.com/3800-weatherproof-protective-case-16-516-in-63927.html
Moshe
I used to get Harbor Freight adds all the time. Some things looked great, others I was a bit leery of. Let us know if it ends up being the poor man's pelican. If it is, I may just get that a look in. Thanks for posting this.

Huaco Kid
I've looked at them and they are not Pelican, but seem to be a perfectly acceptable knock-off. I've already got more pelican cases than a normal person should have. Work often sends me equipment in them, not expecting them to be returned.
janice6
I keep some of my power tools in them. The ones that have a history of going to my family's homes to do repair. Case hold all the supporting accessories also. Good buy.
pipedreams
One comment someone pointed out to me is be aware there is a difference between closed cell foam and the cheaper foam. Foam can absorb moisture and results is a damaged finish if not aware during long term storage. Suggested putting gun in a gun sock to prevent direct contact with foam. This was pointed out to me, but since I'm not an expert on the subject I'm just saying be aware.

Also a consideration if collapsing the foam is a consideration.

Cougar_ml
Harbor freight does have smaller cases than RTIC does, and at good prices if you need a small case. I just bought a couple of the 18" RTIC so I might be a little biased.

Cougar_ml
There is also a difference in warranty. The RTIC have limited lifetime warranty, the HF has 90 day warranty.

No, but I'll pick up one from Harbor Freight and put a German name on it for 3x the price. Would that work OK for you??? ?

Huaco Kid
One of the HFs in Macon, GA had an armed officer at the door. You learn that stuff like that means that you don't leave anything in the car in the hotel parking lot. And don't leave anything in the hotel room when you leave for work. They are okay but the RTIC case is MUCH nicer, no sharp edges and the latches are much smoother. 1
blackjack
A ham radio friend has put one to use to carry a small 25-watt VHF/UHF radio and a set of gel-cell batteries for portable operations. Other needed gear goes in the case, too - battery charger, roll-up J-pole antenna, some 550-cord, etc. He installed a meter on the exterior of the case to monitor battery charge status. Nice setup for less than $200.
