Trolls

I put them on ignore, same as TOS.  But, this site is not as effective at blocking people you put on ignore.  It still shows that they started a thread and the title and shows when they reply to a thread or quote you.  Just doesn't show the content.

So, the ignore feature is pretty much useless here.

It would be nice if once a certain number of members put a troll on ignore, that the admin would get a notice.  Might be a good indicator that someone is not worth putting up with.

If this forum follows in the path of GT, the number of  Liberal Disrupters will increase while the Conservatives either leave or get banned.  That's the plan anyway.

There's a difference. Eric ain't gonna sell this place.

What I find interesting is that for years many of us old gun owners have commented on how once faced with a violent threat, many liberals might change their minds when it comes to owning a firearm. We post links to stories of female or gay shooting groups. And then, when those same liberals find their way onto gun forums, we bitch about it. While I find many posts with a liberal bent range from amusing to annoying, I rarely comment. After all, its not like anyone is going to change their mind.

So, I guess if we're going to encourage more gun ownership, and more 2A support, we're going to have to put up with a broader range of opinions. No matter how misguided. :D

I have never used the ignore feature on any forum.

First off, I don't need a setting to ignore someone and second, idiots often provide unexpected sources of amusement.

Very well said, my friend.

I take a true patriotic gun owner over a liberal who has a couple wheel-guns hiding in his closet any day of the week. When it comes to our gun rights, only pro gun right votes count. As a matter of facts, I'd rather not see many liberals owning guns, that has proven to be a bad combination many times.

There is nothing wrong with opposing or moderate viewpoints and discussion those options. Jame is more on the centered / liberal position, and I respect his opinion, because he isn't here to put the entire community upside down, unlike those toolbags.

I basically posted the same topic and tagged Eric, just a week ago or so, in another thread. Got no reply, and can't expect any change. I do get that. I really like and appreciate most of you guys, but the left wing trolling ruins it for me. Life is short, and I'm already fading out. I'll be on SHOT show next week... time for some real-life fun... with real gun enthusiasts... I know I won't see any dumbass trolls in Vegas...

If a Pro-Gun Conservative post on any Liberal Forum, you will be Banned Pronto.  Why not Ban the Far Left from these forums before another one goes down?

Not sure about here, but over at GT some said they were invited back after being banned

In My Humble Opinion: Optimal forum software would have some sort of troll-O-meter that allows members to do just that.  I know we are all afraid that the trolls might gang up on us, But, it would be an interesting social experiment.

Put a message in their inbox like, "177 Members of this forum have you on their ignore list.  The last five posts you did were read by exactly 0 members.  You have reached what it is commonly referred to as the "Persona Non Grata" mode.  Most users when faced with this dilemma typically move on to a new forum.

Or, add a thumbs down button to denote dislike. A preponderance of dislikes and you're voted off the island. Of course that risks turning the place into a giant popularity contest. Likely not a good thing. I think most rational people, sensing they're just not very welcome. would choose to move on. There are rational liberals, right??
