PNWguy
Girlfriend came over yesterday and I thawed out 3lbs of moose meat since I was planning on making moose meatloaf for her. We ended up doing other things, so now I have the 3lbs thawed out and sitting in the fridge. Won't see her again until Sunday. Not sure if it will stay good that long. I can always use it up tonight for something else and thaw out another 3lbs on Sunday. Not sure if wild game stays good as long as regular commercial beef. I've always used it right after thawing it out.
MDLOTT
Tuesday to Sunday is too long IMO. Chili time. That'll freeze well.

PNWguy
Cooking it up now for some quick hamburger helper. Seems sacrilegious using moose for Hamburger Helper...

KWalrad
Make the meatloaf, then freeze it. Thaw it Saturday evening. That way it's flavored through. Kind of lime chili or spaghetti sauce... It'll be better after it seasons. Or you can make mooseburger helper. Your call.
Mrs.Cicero
You could make the meatloaf now, and you don't even have to freeze it again. Just stick it in the fridge til she comeback on Sunday then eat it. It'll last that long that way just fine.

Walt Longmire
I leave thawed wild game meat in refer for long periods. I butcher my animals almost immediately. It's not like the stuff you buy at the store (where they make the meat) that was killed a few weeks ago and left to 'age.' (rot)
Walt Longmire
And I would never pollute my meat with store bought hamburger helper. I'd simply add my own ingredients and spices.
