Yup.  After the heavy indemnities placed on Germany by the United States, it collapsed their economy.  A loaf of bread was worth a wheel barrel full of marks.

Actually, the indemnities were put in place mostly by France and Britain.  Wilson fought against them.  Remember that Britain and France were the world powers at that time, so they had the biggest clout.  The US didn’t really become a world power on that scale until WWII.

All the allies laid and indemnities at their feet, which collapsed their economy.  By the accord they were also prohibited from building weapons of war.  Which, obviously they ignored.  So, instead of laying the blame at the allies, they brought a nut job Austrian to power who promised everything to a desperate people.  Then he needed an internal enemy, so he went after the handicapped, blacks, homosexuals, and Jews.  They needed a scape goat, and pushing the allies again was not fortuitous until their war machine was up and running.

If banks close because they are insolvent, their employees don't have a job any more, Companies ( some in other countries ) that had their money in that bank to pay their employees lose their money and can't pay their own employees; they close.  All these employees can't buy stuff now so other companies close, etc. etc., etc.

Rolling depression.

I don't think the " yellow vests " have thought this thing through.  They all will be out of a job.

Maybe they think that they are fighting for something that they believe is more important than today's job.

I think that people are realizing that 'global economic equality',  in all it's magnificent loving glory,  doesn't mean that everyone will be lifted up to your level of living, but that you will be dragged down to everyone else's level of living.

"If men were like ants, there would be no interest in human freedom. If individual men, like ants, were uniform, interchangeable, devoid of specific personality traits of their own, then who would care whether they were free or not? Who, indeed, would care if they lived or died? The glory of the human race is the uniqueness of each individual, the fact that every person, though similar in many ways to others, possesses a completely individuated personality of his own. It is the fact of each person’s uniqueness—the fact that no two people can be wholly interchangeable—that makes each and every man irreplaceable and that makes us care whether he lives or dies, whether he is happy or oppressed. And, finally, it is the fact that these unique personalities need freedom for their full development that constitutes one of the major arguments for a free society."

Doubting the "facts" posted on social media?

I'm sure the OP actually put down his bong long enough to tweet this.  :D

While I'm sure it is not accurate you might want to read this.

It is an interesting article.  It's amazing how little or none of this gets reported in this country.

Our press doesn't cover a lot of subjects, if it isn't about one world government / EU or Islamic migration it's not covered.
