Huaco Kid
"I know!! Let's make an exhibit where people can touch animals that outweigh them by hundreds and hundreds of times!! It'll be great!!" "Dammit, Johnson! You'll get a huge promotion for that idea!!"
kerbie18
I got to ride an elephant and a camel at my local zoo as a little kid. They were very, very calm animals. I'm going to go out on a limb and say a rhino is NOT the same. Yikes! ?

At the zoo, one city over, a mother held her 2 year old child over the wall of an African wild dog exhibit, "So he could get a better look." She dropped him. Even though some adults jumped in, the dingoes et the baby. The parents "settled" their lawsuit with the zoo; because it was the zoo's fault that she was able to dangle her baby over the wall.

I’ve seen similar fears espoused by the women crying to ban guns.

You can tell the difference between the white and black ones because the white (some Dutch word for wide, not white) ones have a wide mouth. I know there's a joke about a stolen bicycle around here somewhere...

Al Czervik
People are stupid. African animals like hippos and rhinos are also quite different from North American animals. Take for example, North American moose and bear, they can weigh 1500 lbs. Hippos and rhinos on the very top end can get to 8-9 thousand pounds or more, and they can act like the big mofo animals they are. I can tell you from a first hand experience, that being on foot in the African bush and encountering one of these things in the wild will make yer azz pucker. And, even with a big bore rifle, you feel really small and vulnerable.
