Huaco Kid
The Maltese Falcon (they said it started the genre) and Casablanca on TCM right now.
tous
Both good films, but more important, damned good stories. Enjoy them. 1
DWARREN123
I like both plus others Bogart was in. Heck of a actor.
PNWguy
I haven't seen either one of them. Waiting for a girlfriend to make me watch them. Or a gay friend.
PNWguy
Seriously though, I do enjoy a lot fo the classic movies. My best friend in Arizona is a retired writer and huge movie buff. He has hundreds of classic movies. I had to move into his guest bedroom for about three months due to insane work overtime (12 hours on, 12 hours off, 7 days a week for 84 days straight). Every night, we'd watch a movie. One night it was one of his classic films, and the next it was one of my favorite contemporary movies. I watched a lot of Alfred Hitchcock movies and a lot of cheesy B movies that I later saw on "Mystery Science Theater 3000".

Dragline
You've really got to start on some Scandinavian crime dramas.
GlocknSpiehl
You need to see "M", a movie by Fritz Lang ("Metropolis") and starring Peter Lorre... You'll never listen to the tune "In the Hall of the Mountain King" the same way again...

You mean movies about people staring pensively out frosted windows wewaring all black? I'd rather have my scrotal region waxed. OP, you meant "Noir", right? That was a joke? Borg warner
Robert Mitchum was the premier Film Noir actor. He personified the Genre. even Thunder road was considered film noir but I don't really think it was. Maybe only because Mitchum was in it. Here's a list of film noir movies with Roberts Mitchum: https://www.ranker.com/list/robert-mitchum-film-noir-roles/reference
TXUSMC
Didn't know Casablanca qualified as a film noir movie, but it's one of my top two favorite movies (the other is Twelve O'clock High). I never miss an opportunity to see either of them.

But it's from 1941. They said Casablanca was a new war film. But it's about WWII. TCM is really going downhill.

DrB
Eddie Muller hosts "Noir Alley" on TCM. One of my favorites. I record them as I'm not usually around when they broadcast. Some good movies with a good background of them by Eddie. Dave..

Looking forward to a new season but it will air in the U.K. first and take a while to get to the states. Have you seen similar, Hinterland, Broadchurch, Happy Valley, The Fall, Doctor Foster, just to name a few?
