It takes a real DMZ to protect a border. Anything else is just political hooey. So we should tear down the walls of all the prisons in the country because they aren’t 100% effective? And minefields have been penetrated for years - can you say Berlin Wall and The Iron Curtain, and even Sobibor? And basically, we don’t really need a wall. What we need is local, city, and state officials to actually obey the immigration laws, and not conspire to break federal law. Arrest, try, convict, and imprison those sanctuary idiots, and the problem starts to go away. Do the exact same to those that employ them, and those who shelter and supply them, the problem goes away. It won’t happen, so the wall has to become part of the solution, which is all it is proposed to be. Hawk

The Berlin Wall was dividing a Country in half, not protecting one.

Otherwise, you sound like a leftist troll, which is why you have the reputation here. . . Capiche? Hawk Since I think for myself your attack means nothing. Hawk In 50 years compare how many breaches there have been through the DMZ by North Koreans as there have been on the Southern and Northern Border. Apparently, what we are doing there is working. Why should we do for them, what we are unwilling to do for our own Country?

A lot more all over the Border we have now. Why? Honestly, because neither the Right or the Left actually care about making an actual difference. This has become a whose schlong is bigger war between them, with the little people stuck in the middle of the Political BS Storm. In the end they will continue to suffer, and ultimately, again, no one really cares. I think they miss slavery to be honest.

And frankly, putting the Coast Guard under DHS hasn't done a lot for our waterways. We need better security along the sea where hard core smugglers use with great alacrity. While I can't speak to the sea as a whole, but from where I live, one would need something on the order of a 70' vessel to get to the Bahamas or Bermuda. And, even then, that is pretty iffy based upon fuel requirements. Vessels of that size do not go unnoticed, that I can tell you with certainty. Hell, the watchers even get their Jet A at the same FBO everyone else does. They ain't CG.

No. The thing that cost us what is now California was gold. Nothing could be done to stop those who were coming for it. What we have is gold to the Mexicans; we have a better way of life. As long as that is true, they're coming. That's a given. We can fight them, (stupid) or we can live with them. As long as gold is attracting them, the only thing we can't do is stop them.
