steve4102
The NFL has fined Dallas Cowboy Ezekiel Elliot $13,369 fine for dropping $21 into the Salvation Army kettle following a touchdown against the Washington Redskins on Thanksgiving Day. https://joeforamerica.com/2018/12/nfl-fines-cowboy-ezekiel-elliot-13k-for-21-donation-to-charity/?fbclid=IwAR0AGK1fQzFyKyC40nwzrlE6Iqyy9CKIKhTYG7rcrmhvZRwtsf8QAWJ88PQ 2
Brown Hawk
Insanity seems to reign in the NFL. They seem to want to chase away money as fast as they can. Basically leaving me fairly speechless with disgust. “Giving to charity is unsportsmanlike conduct, but protesting the country isn’t?” Hawk 2
Slotback
Stuff like that is what turns fans into former fans. I'd finally had enough and I don't even bother with the NFL any more. 3
Dric902
It wasn’t for donating, it was for showboating and having cash in his uniform to do it was a premeditation for the stunt. When TO carried a sharpie to autograph a touchdown ball before giving it away to the crowd member (you have to give them back or leave the stadium) he got the same punishment. if they didn’t, there would be all kinds of stupid crap going on. . The real point is that one stunt is punished, and another is celebrated and pushed. At least one is pointing to a group that helps people. Why is showboating a problem, they are there to entertain and put on a show. Not to have their personal protests which the NFL did nothing about. Unfortunately, I cannot give the NFL less money, I have never supported them.
minervadoe
I read that to my wife and she just said, "What?" Seriously, why fine somebody for that? It is an awesome gesture to a deserving organization. This is surreal. It is hard to understand, much less believe. Sad, really! Sorry, it was a stunt. A self serving stunt to draw attention to himself. If it wasn’t about himself, the whole Nike thing could have featured MLK, Evers, any number of people. Instead of him kneeling. If he actually cared. Even the supposed facts are incorrect, as more whites are killed by police than blacks. If he actually cared, he might use the time a little more usefully.

That’s just how people who didn’t agree with it, or understand it want to spin it. Your meme does solidify it.
jmohme
I don't care what the reasons for the fine are. I don,t care the dropping cash in the Salvation Army kettle was a stunt or a genuine act of Charity, I don't care if players taking a knee is a protest or a self serving attempt at getting attention by a player. None of this changes the fact the the NFL sucks and always has!
