Ahhh.. 80's hairband movies. Didn't this have a cameo by Ozzy as a reverend and Alice Cooper as a homeless dude?

The milquetoast kid from Family Ties miscast as the lead charactor?

I remember seeing, and probably have the soundtrack laying around somewhere.

Not very memorable though, was it?

edit - Trick or Treat was the Ozzy cameo with the Family Ties kid. Prince of Darkness was the Alice cameo. Thanks interweb!

When I visited my late Father-In-Law (and he was always late, even to his funeral, which was part funny/part sad)  part of his business was soldering boards for the blind and putting them back in radios for them.  He taught me how to solder as he was doing it for years.  Little solders are no joke.  Fortunately, under his guidance I didn't screw up one of his boards.

When my son wanted to learn how to solder I taught him to solder solder, to solder.   It's a real skill to manipulate the heat properly.

He has a degree in EE, and one in CS, so he know hardware and software.  His love is the software side, but he is competent on the hardware too.  One time a software tech came to him and said that they needed to have a board sent to another department to have a surface mount chip replaced.  My son did it for him.  He was told that, "was a bitchen move, dude".  He said that was the first time he felt old.  He had to ask, "That's good, right?".

We got to go to NASA in Houston and teach them our way.

Our engineering (large mil-spec manufacturing) and some local universities developed soldering specs and techniques and someone calculated that NASA could save many hundreds of pounds of weight on a shuttle if they did it our way.  NASA and military eventually adopted our standards.

I got to work on a space shuttle mock-up,  which was cooler than cool.
