pipedreams
The terrible wintry conditions soldiers were forced to fight in during the last major German offensive of World War Two have been brought to light thanks to a series of colorized images to mark the 74th anniversary of the Battle of the Bulge. Maccabeus
Great pics. Thanks for sharing. Of the last two living WWII vets in my congregation, one fought and was injured at the Battle of the Bulge.

Mrs.Cicero
My great uncle was shot through the chest there. The only reasons he survived are a) the hugely oversized wool coat he was wearing froze to his chest and stopped the bleeding, and b) the company medic was in his foxhole when it happened.
