fortyofforty
Democrats have thrown their lot behind illegal aliens from Mexico and Central America. Democrats abandoned the white, working class. Democrats abandoned men. Democrats left pro-lifers. Democrats openly explain that demographics favor those who cater to Latinos. It's no secret. Eventually, when the numbers dictate it's time, Democrats will turn away from blacks in favor of Hispanics. It's already happening on the ground, although the elites still cling to their power. The more people depend on government, the better off Democrats are. Democrats are the greediest people on the planet. Their leaders are greedy for power, and their voters are greedy for free stuff paid for by somebody else. It's a symbiotic relationship. 1

Why do you create a strawman to attack? I guess it's because even Democrats agree that we need a wall barrier on the border. Senators Hillary Clinton, Chuck Schumer, Dianne Feinstein, Joe Biden, and Barack Obama voted for legislation to prevent "all unlawful entries into the United States" using whatever methods are necessary, including physical walls barriers. Moshe
Okay, here is my quandary with Schumer. Nancy has always been a vacuous moron. However, if Schumer has ever gone to Israel, and I would bet my last dollar I have, that he has, and probably owns some of the million shekel houses over there. I guarantee you, he is okay with the wall between Israel and the Hamas Palestinians. But, not for the Country he represents? The same terrorism threats are there. Remember, a couple years ago when there was an Al Queda training camp in Juarez, Mexico, right across from El Paso? Mexico could give a damn what happens in their country as long as money exchanges hands. Do you think, with a training camp, they are not paying Coyotes to smuggle them in with the rabble?

fortyofforty
Let's school our resident Fascists (who, of course, reject the moniker): From Dictionary.com. Fascism: a governmental system led by a dictator having complete power [Democrats seek more and more power in the hands of the Executive Branch, under the control of their President. Obama declared he didn't need Congress, since he had his "pen" and his "phone"] forcibly suppressing opposition and criticism [Democrats continually suppress all opposition, using every means available to them, including banning them from social media, removing them from speaking engagements at their convention, and preventing them from getting work where their views would be heard] regimenting all industry, commerce, etc. [Democrats use regulations and laws to restrict and control industry, such as by changing fuel economy standards, banning light bulbs, moving tax money to favored industries and companies] and emphasizing an aggressive nationalism and often racism [Democrats just ended a period of eight years of extreme racism, by the most racist President since Wilson, "if I had a son", Black Lives Matter, and on and on].

Jammersix
His definition of "fascist" is right on. So it must be his cognition, his information or his rather casual relationship with reality.
fortyofforty
His definition of "Fascist" comes from the online Dicitonary.com, and point after point fits the current Democrat/antifa/BLM/Democratic Socialist party. Too bad if reality bitchslaps you, sometimes, but I'd guess you're used to it by now.

Dric902
The White House has directed the Army Corps of Engineers to "look at possible ways of funding border security," Press Secretary Sarah Sanders told Fox News on Thursday night, as the ongoing partial federal government shutdown over money for a border wall is less than two days away from becoming the longest in the nation's history. Separately, Fox News is told the White House directed the Corps to examine the February 2018 emergency supplemental, which included disaster relief for California, Florida, Texas, and Puerto Rico, among other states, to see what unspent funds could be diverted to a border wall, according to a congressional aide familiar with the matter. Approximately $13.9 billion is available from the congressionally approved February 2018 supplemental spending bill, intended to cover natural disasters, and much of the available money comes from flood control projects, Fox News is told. The Military Construction appropriations bill could provide additional funding in the event of an emergency declaration. https://www.foxnews.com/politics/white-house-directs-army-corps-of-engineers-ways-to-fund-border-security I can hear it already: ”Puerto Rico is dying for Trumps vanity project” . Paul53
In 1989 the guards on the Berlin wall stopped being paid. Shortly after, the wall fell. Now we've stopped paying many government employees in order to get a wall built. The irony is striking. in

It's not about open vs closed - it's about control vs lack of control. We need a method to control the border. A wall (actually more like a fence is what they seem to be looking at) won't do all of it but it can't hurt. Is it the best system? Dunno. Will defer to the experts - if you can find one that isn't politically motivated one way or the other. Much like a door doesn't keep a criminal out of your house. What it does is make the act of getting into your house a) take longer and b) louder. That's why the USBP wants a design they can see through. Not a solid concrete barrier. There are parts I question - mainly the southwest Texas mountain region. How do you build a wall over THAT?
