Schmidt Meister
It's almost surprising how many old vehicles you can find in the Utah deserts that were just abandoned or they just died there.

Schmidt Meister
1949 Fordson Major E27N Roadless Half Track I saw this old tractor and dug a little bit and found a website of a guy who loves old tractors and he had completely restored one. The third picture is another old Fordson tractor that he had restored, it's a 1951 Fordson Major E27N Perkins Dual Drive Tractor.

Schmidt Meister
The Desert Inn at Yeehaw Junction in Osceola County, FL dates to the 1880s as a trading post. There were no roads, just trails when the Desert Inn was first constructed. The current building was built in 1898. The 1930s brought paved roads, and the intersection earned the nickname “Jackass Crossing,” a nod to the cowboys and lumbermen who relied on mules for working cattle and hauling timber. When Florida’s Turnpike cut through in the 1950s, state legislators changed the name from Jackass Crossing to a less-offensive Yeehaw Junction. In 2010, Yeehaw Junction Population was 240. The Desert Inn was almost completely destroyed in December, 2019, when an 18 wheeler lost control making a turn near the Inn. The owners are currently planning on restoring the Inn as restaurant and as a museum. 1

Schmidt Meister
The ecstatic sailor shown kissing a woman in Times Square celebrating the end of World War II died on Feb. 17, 2019 in R.I. George Mendonsa was 95. Mendonsa fell and had a seizure at the assisted living facility in Middletown, Rhode Island, where he lived with his wife, Rita, of 70 years, his daughter, Sharon Molleur, told The Providence Journal. Mendonsa was shown kissing Greta Zimmer Friedman, a dental assistant in a nurse's uniform, on Aug. 14, 1945, known as V-J Day, the day Japan surrendered to the United States. People spilled into the New York City streets to celebrate the news. Mendonsa planted a kiss on Friedman, whom he had never met. An iconic photo of the kiss by Alfred Eisenstaedt was first published in Life magazine and is called "V-J Day in Times Square," but is known to most as "The Kiss." It became one of the most famous photographs of the 20th century. Greta Zimmer Friedman said she wasn’t aware of the photo until the 60’s. She said the kiss was just a moment of celebration, not a romantic moment. She passed away on September 8, 2016. 2
