Halibut tonight.

Recommended Posts

Very fond memories of cooking up Kings, Halibut and squid on a smoking hot hibachi in Kodiak Harbor after a hard day.

Only problem is, that ruined me for these items from then on.  Anything of these I've had in the lower 48 really sucks by comparison.

Luv a thick cut, seared halibut, almost sushi inside. About as good as it gets.

Costco had a road show and bought the HUGE crab arms. They are cooked. I cut out pieces the size of a banana, soaked them in milk to take away that pumped up flavor and bang.

Last time I was at the fish market (not at the supermarket counter of fish rot) the good halibut was $32.99/lb.  Of course, we're a fair distance from AK.

That’s the price of Halibut fish and chips served in a decent restaurant up there.  Maybe a little more during tourist season.

There is something fishy about this entire thread.  :miff:

Seafood in Texas is simple.

Take a cowsie or pigsie.

Tie a rope around their feet.

Chuck them into the Gulf.

Haul them out, put them on the smoker.

Serve with cornbread.

Why? Homer has good fishing, no?

Yes. For 25/30 pounders. Would like to land one larger than that and believe it is more realistic in Seward. Plus Seward is beautiful and we're going to stay there two days. Might as well fish. ;)

Yes. That was included in the plans. Anchorage at noon on Sat and not fishing until Sunday so Saturday afternoon is open.

Razor clams:  Blech. Unless perhaps I cooked them wrong. To me, they were like chewing leather.
