OGW
My wife drinks about one beer a year, no other alcohol. She does, however, appreciate good stouts and ales and will take a sip of what I have open. Her favorite so far was a double milk stout brewed by one of her clients. Oops, in the wine forum by accident. Edited August 30, 2017 by OGW

I am pretty sure that the difference between an $80 bottle of Bordeaux and a $1000 bottle of Bordeaux would be lost on me

The "worth it" part is subjective. I can assure you there is a difference, but whether a specific person would appreciate it is the unknown factor. Scwine
I love great red's that can be expensive of course, but what about expensive white's? I wouldn't think your investment return on a better white taste would be worth it? What do you say? I have never had a white over $20, but I have had reds to $400,,,all store prices. Glocks4Freedom
Skip the Pinot Grigios, they're good for cooking though I tend to like Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay whites. You can find reasonably priced ones - less than $15.00 - from Cali or France at your local liquor store. https://www.totalwine.com/wine/white-wine/sauvignon-blanc/luc-pirlet-sauvignon-blanc/p/172977750?s=925&igrules=true
