Defected of course implies that they ever worked for any nation other than China.

At least 154 Chinese scientists who worked on government-sponsored research at the U.S.’s foremost national security laboratory over the last two decades have been recruited to do scientific work in China, some of which helped advance military technology that threatens American national security, according to a new private intelligence report obtained by NBC News.
The report, by Strider Technologies, describes what it calls a systemic effort by the government of China to place Chinese scientists at Los Alamos National Laboratory, where nuclear weapons were first developed.
Many of the scientists were later lured back to China to help make advances in such technologies as deep-earth-penetrating warheads, hypersonic missiles, quiet submarines and drones, according to the report.
We are literally financing our own destruction in every possible way. It’s not surprising that Communist China would want to plant its own people at Los Alamos. The mind-boggling thing is that they were able to plant over 150 of them. No waiting.
For instance, according to the report, Zhao Yusheng received nearly $20 million in U.S. taxpayer grants during an 18-year career at Los Alamos, where he held a top-secret Q clearance and led a defense project developing bombs that can penetrate deep underground.
Then, in 2016, Zhao joined a talent program, Strider found, and left the U.S. for a job at a research center in China. The report notes that before that, while he was at Los Alamos, he hired another Chinese scientist who worked with him on the bomb research. That scientist filed a patent in China in 2007 for an “ultra thick penetrating warhead,” according to the report.
Zhao is now a vice president at China’s Southern University of Science and Technology, known as SUStech, which conducts defense research. He did not respond to requests for comment.
The baffling question here is why we keep hiring people coming from an enemy state and then expected different results? What exactly are the qualifications for a secret Q clearance? An ability to wear pants? A solid grade point average? Technical ability with no regard to obvious issues? It used to be that people with family in enemy nations or even foreign nations had trouble getting security clearance. And that was over the top. But now all the barriers are gone.
 “The correct number of Chinese or Russian citizens at our weapon labs should be zero,” said Rep. Mike Rogers, R-Ala., the ranking member of the House Armed Services Committee.
But that’s crazy talk. We need cheap foreign labor in our labs so we can be ripped off by our enemies.
“U.S. officials and experts say most Chinese scientists who immigrate to the U.S. remain here, and many have made significant contributions to U.S. defense technology.”
Except the tradeoff doesn’t seem to be worth if they go on to use what we know in the service of our leading enemy.
There’s a huge difference between Chinese immigrants opposed to the regime and those who are supportive or loyal to it. We used to make those distinctions with Russia, we threw them away with China. Does anyone even bother asking the folks with top clearance to denounce the regime? Or would that also be too offensive?

Their analysis found that the average American has lost about $3,000 in annual purchasing power because consumer prices, which have risen 12.7% since January 2021, have spiked significantly faster than wages.
Wages have risen just 8% over the same period, which has effectively resulted in a pay cut for Americans struggling to pay for daily necessities including food, gas and rent.
Higher interest rates and borrowing costs have also reduced the average person’s purchasing power by another $1,200, according to the report.
“Simply put, working Americans are $4,200 poorer today than when Biden took office,” said EJ Antoni, a research fellow in regional economics with the Heritage Foundation’s Center for Data Analysis.
“This financial catastrophe for American families is the direct result of a president and Congress addicted to spending our money, combined with a Federal Reserve compliantly enabling this addiction by printing more dollars.”
Under the Trump administration, Heritage said the average American’s annual earnings had increased by $4,000.

Florida Warns Credit Card Companies It Will Bring Down the Hammer if They Track Firearm Sales.
Ever the protector of the people’s rights, Florida’s Republican politicians are set to make life very difficult for credit card companies like Visa, Mastercard, and American Express should they go through with their plans to begin applying codes to purchases of guns and ammunition, effectively tracking firearm purchases and creating an unofficial registry.
As RedState previously reported, major credit card companies moved to create “merchant codes” for firearms. When you buy something like a plane ticket, the card company files it under a certain code to identify it in their records. With merchant codes for firearms, this could not only create a registry but also allow the company to deny the purchase if they so choose.
The backlash has caused various Republican politicians to respond, including Tennessee Attorney General Jonathan Skrmetti and Montana Attorney General Austin Knudsen warning companies that if they attempt to track gun purchases then investigations will begin.
But Florida is taking it a step further.
Florida Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Jimmy Patronis issued a statement effectively telling these companies that should they begin interfering in any way with the people’s 2nd Amendment rights, including putting them on a watchlist, then Florida will begin kicking them right in the wallet. Moreover, Patronis called out the fact that this is just more ESG nonsense from major corporations and it won’t be tolerated in Florida:
“The second amendment is foundational to our American way of life. The idea that law-abiding Americans would be put on some kind of corporate watchlist is disturbing. Our rights come from our Creator, not the government, and especially not big corporations. It is clear that the actions by these credit card companies are part of a larger effort to curtail God-given constitutional rights of Americans. It is also symptomatic of the virus known as ESG, which is part of a global effort to socially re-engineer the country that we love so much. There is no way we are going to allow that to happen in the free state of Florida.
“If we come to the legislative session and companies like Visa, Mastercard and American Express are generating these reports to create a chilling effect against the purchase of firearms, then I’ll work with the Legislature to pass a law penalizing businesses who are targeting the right to bear arms. We’ve seen a groundbreaking ruling come out of the Fifth Circuit limiting corporations’ ability to curtail American’s constitutional rights, so we are on solid legal footing to pursue a bill protecting Floridians 2nd Amendment Rights. We can also take it a step further by barring these companies from doing any business with the State of Florida. We will send a message out to these large corporations that if you are interested in doing business with Florida, you need to make sure that you’re protecting Floridians right to arm and defend themselves.”
Florida isn’t making empty threats either. When Disney decided to try to interfere politically, Florida responded by stripping it of its special tax privileges.
While the extreme of preventing MasterCard and Visa from doing business in Florida will be a difficult thing to endure, this will allow for other companies to move in and establish a greater presence themselves. Companies that give into the ESG system are effectively putting leftist agenda items in front of customers anyway, and that could result in further disruption of rights and personal livelihoods in jeopardy down the line.
Time will tell if Florida’s threat will have companies waving off, especially as states like Florida and Texas become financial hubs in the United States, but if credit card companies continue down this road and Florida makes good on its threat, then this will be a massive blow to these corporations.

Venezuela Empties Prisons and Sends Criminals to US Border: House Republicans.
Venezuela is deliberately releasing prisoners, among them violent criminals, and has them travel to the U.S. southern border, a development that prompted 14 House Republicans to write to Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.
Rep. Troy Nehls (R-Texas), who is leading the Republican effort to have Mayorkas answer questions, said in the Sept. 22 letter that the decision by the Nicolas Maduro regime has put the United States “in grave danger.”
“We write you with serious concern about a recent U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) intelligence report received by Border Patrol that instructs agents to look for violent criminals from Venezuela among the migrant caravans heading towards the U.S.-Mexico border,” the letter says, citing a recent report from Breitbart.
The outlet reported on Sept. 18 that it had reviewed the DHS intelligence report from an unnamed source within the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP). The report warned that released prisoners, including those convicted of murder, rape, and extortion, had been seen within migrant caravans traveling from Tapachula, Mexico, to the southern border, as recently as July.
The report also said the Bolivarian National Intelligence Service, Venezuela’s intelligence agency, may have played a role in deliberately releasing prisoners.
Hours after Breitbart published the report, Nehls took to Twitter to announce that he had obtained confirmation from the DHS.
“DHS confirms that Venezuela empties prisons and sends violent criminals to our southern border,” Nehls wrote. “President Trump warned us about this years ago.”
Former President Donald Trump issued such a warning several times in 2021. He did it again last week while speaking to radio show host Hugh Hewitt, when he said America had become a “dumping ground” as other nations were “emptying their prisons into the United States.”

According to federal prosecutors, the 47 individuals charged across six indictments and three criminal informations committed conspiracy, wire fraud, bribery, and money laundering when they defrauded millions from the Federal Child Nutrition Program during the Chinese coronavirus pandemic.
Specifically, the 47 individuals allegedly used COVID-19 changes to the Federal Child Nutrition Program to oversee the massive fraud scheme via the Minneapolis-based Feeding Our Future and the for-profit restaurants as well as the food distribution services sponsored by the nonprofit.

According to Assembly-member Garcia's office, composting humans "involves placing bodies in individual vessels and fostering gentle transformation into a nutrient-dense soil that can then be returned to families or donated to conservation land." Yeah, I've read several articles about those. They actually have one in Jacksonville, FL. They 'plant' you and a tree variety of your choice and they place a tag with a number on the tree so 'you' can be located later if someone wants to picnic under your tree, lol.

Scott Adams's syndicated comic strip Dilbert has been poking fun at the idiosyncrasies of office culture for 33 years.
But earlier this month, Adams made an announcement on his podcast "Real Coffee with Scott Adams" that he was going to make a hard run at taking on the new corporate ESG ratings.

"It should start to become known that Dilbert thinks it's ridiculous and then people who also think it's ridiculous will start retweeting it. And then the boss who's in charge of it will start to get these sent to him by email or printed out and slipped under the office door," Adams explained. "Mockery is very powerful and mockery, in theory, could dismantle this."
ESG stands for "Environmental, Social, Governance" and measures just how woke a corporation's policies are.

And as new comic strips came out attacking ESG, newspapers started canceling the creator's syndication because of complaints from the readers. Lee Enterprises, which runs 77 newspapers, just canceled their contract.
Given that Lee Enterprises cut other popular comic strips as well, it could be a normal business decision, but Adams says, "Do you think they flipped coins to decide what to keep and what to delete? It wasn't about popularity or cost. (That I know.)"
Dilbert is immensely popular running in 57 countries and 19 languages, so he's probably got a point there.
Let's take a look about why the wokies are calling for Adams's head.
There are three parts to the ESG rating:
They put Environmentalism first, but that's the least important aspect of the rating. Adam pokes fun of how easy it is to get over this part of the rating by focusing on the other two.

Next up in terms of importance is the Social aspect.
This refers to social justice and equity in the workplace. Adams introduced a black character that messes with the boss by identifying as white, so that he cannot be counted as a "token" black guy boosting the companies' ESG rating.
