GOP blocks Rand Paul’s bid to defund Planned Parenthood

The biggest issue with PP is the abortion part, which is supposedly 3% of what they do.  So I say cut their funding by 3% and tell them to keep the other stuff.

I've no problem with them outside of the abortion-related stuff.

Good;

I know this is a hot-button topic for many hear, but it's a political loser for us, so just leave it alone.

It is, and honestly it won't change anything.

I know abortion is the main point, but I'll still say just leave it alone. It's a political killer. All the female democrats I know, when Trump won, were freaking out thinking abortions were going to be outlawed. Don't rile those women up. Leave it alone. It's no different than when Obama was elected, and we were all freaking out every time some inane anti-gun law came up for vote.

Don't like abortion? Don't have one. It's settled law now, and just as we don't want anyone messing with our rights, let's not mess with anyone else's.

Right to murder?

That's a moral question, and I get the concern. But it's settled law, and has been for damn near 50 years. I'm not saying I agree with it, but laws aren't meant to make everyone happy. We're a Constitutional Republic, not a Democracy.

As far as trhe Fudd part, I'm not seeing the correlation. I'm not a supporter of Planned Parenthood.

And so was the tax on tea.

So were a lot of laws, no doubt. We repealed the 18th Amendment too. Laws can be ratified, repealed, changed......Roe v. Wade is law that really motivates the left, and that's not a tiger we should be poking with a stick.

I do wonder; how many people here would take an agreement where the leftists left the 2A alone, and in return promised to leave Roe v. Wade alone?

The losers here are the 1636 babies, children, who have been aborted, killed, so far today (at 3.30 eastern time). How about the 224,837 abortions Planned Parenthood alone has performed of the 597,807 abortions in the USA so far year to date, who are the losers here?

I get that and agree, but not everyone in this country does. There's a lot of such topics that separate people in this country.

"If you guys don't threaten one of my rights, then I'll look the other way while you kill a few hundred thousand babies over the next year."

I don't think I'd want to face Jesus someday after striking that deal.

It sounds a lot like what I'm sure many were saying about Hitler near the start of WWII.

The number since RvW is over 50 million. Unless some other nation has killed even more, that is undoubtedly the most heinous evil that any nation has ever committed in all of history.

60,667,836 since Roe V wade. 18,200,351 of which were black.  25,130,570 and counting this year world wide and 1,505,820,675 and counting since 1980.   And guns need to be banned to protect the children...

I gotta agree with you on this one.

First of all defunding PP in no way is revoking the so called settled law.  There is no legal requirement in Roe V Wade that says  the government must fund PP just that abortions are allowed.

You see they can still do the abortions they want to do with or without taxpayer money funding it so it isn't an attack on their precious law.

Why in the hell should I, you, or anyone have to through money they pay into the government fund abortions of people they don't know or have sex with.

If PP wants to have dead baby marathons on NPR/PBS or run gofundme pages to get the money fine at least then it is only the people who want to fund it that are.

According to that report, Planned Parenthood performed 333,964abortions during the 12-month period. That compares 332,278abortions in 2009 and 329,445 abortions in 2010 -- making a three-year toll of close to one-million abortions.

So at 3%

that means PP does non abortion things for........11,000,000 women a year

and over three years.....33,333,333 women. Over 10% of the population (not just female, but the entire population)

yeah, right
