Silentpoet
Florida has a unique, new, approach to feeding the homeless... http://www.foxnews.com/us/2018/08/22/gator-attacks-homeless-woman-at-florida-lake-investigators-say.html ...to the gators.
willie-pete
Lousy reporting; it should read The commission warned that alligators inhabit EVERY aquatic areas of Florida’s 67 counties, but ask that if anyone sees specific gators that may pose a threat to humans, pets or property, they could call the Statewide Nuisance Alligator Program hotline at 866-392-4286. willie-pete
Years ago there was a Steel Challenge match at my gun club in Titusville. It was a National match and we had a lot of outsiders. The gun club has a large lake that is on the edge of one of the ranges we were using. Some out of towners were walking around the edge of the looking at the sights until someone told them about the alligators that lived there. They would have been easy pickins. They didn't go near it for the rest of the weekend.

Vito
Is open carry legal in Florida? It would seem a good short barrel 12 gauge would be a good thing to have with you when walking your dog at night in Florida. You might encounter a gator, or another Travon Martin and you need to be prepared. In a pinch I guess a 9mm semi auto would do, at least for the Travon Martins. This 44 Mag would do for both.

willie-pete
Alligators are bad, I grant you, but I would not like to run into a raccoon. They scare alligators. 1
janice6
One night I went to see why the motion lights were going on and off in the back yard. I walked to the patio door to look outside and right on the other side of the door was a Racoon. Damn thing was almost 4 feet high, standing on his back legs just looking back at me. We both were startled.

I have a 6 foot Bird Feeder, so seeds get spilled on the ground. Occasional the neighborhood cleanup crew dons the black eye masks and grazes the ground for me. I suspect he/she was one of the grounds crew. They're not all bad! 1
