Any known instances when a carrier type airplane crashed when a wing folded while in flight?

Bearcats were built with breakaway (splodable) wingtips because there was a concern the wings might fold. The idea was to blow the tips in a controlled manner, leaving a compromised, but flyable airplane. Apparently Grumman never got them quite right. A few deployed spontaneously in flight, IIRC, and the idea was eventually abandoned.
