Snek

I was feeding animals this morning when this dude started slithering away from me. He was about 6-7 feet away when he started moving.

I emptied my G27 w/ a mag extension (10+1) but missed. I had dirt flying all around his head. I sent my kids to my in-laws house, which was nearby on our property, and ask Grandpa to bring a shotgun.

Grandpa showed up with a 10/22 and nailed the bastard in the head at about 15-20 feet.

The snek never did coil or rattle. When I first saw it I thought it was a rat snake & was going to let it go until I saw the rattles.

Why did you get all crazy if he didn't coil on you?  Now why should the others be nice?  Catch him and move him, no need to kill him.
If you give me your address next time I'll overnight it to you and you can do as you please. At my house, viper = dead. Too many children & animals around.

Yep, same here; this one was making a bee line for the dog area.  The last snakebite cost me two vials of anti-venom.

Do they make shotshells for a G19?

Just curious.

Just about something for every make and model.

I make my own.

For the 625; I cut down a .30-06 to just fit the cylinder and use #12 shot instead of 8's or 9's.  In the same shot column, you get 4x the number of pellets as #8. The longer brass gives you even more.

No viper snek has ever walked away from it.

That pic doesn't even include the CCI Big 4 loads with red tips - they have #4 shot.

Ok, I just bought some of the CCI 9mm shotshells, just in case.  There are lots of rattlers in the palmettos on the dunes.

Next question: Is it safe to fire a 9mm shotshell on the patio without doing damage?  What about inside the house?

You are going to leave a lot of itty bitty holes in something.

OTOH, I capped one in the garage lying in the corner on a concrete floor, block wall and a couple of exposed studs.

You could not tell it even if I told you were to look.  Of course I got down low and the snek got most of it. Plus, I am using #12 shot, Speer is using 7,5's  or 8's
