Walt Longmire
The Kenai River Brewery to Bathroom run. It's a .5K with couches and refreshments along the way. The bathrooms are at the Soldotna Creek Park. I'm in training. Fund raiser for cancer. 2

Walt Longmire
Or like the shirt from the year before says with the lazy polar bear lounging in a recliner. "Whenever I think about exercising, I lie down till the thought goes away." Zero K fun run.

Peng
How is Kenai these days Walt? I was one of those drifter guys you locals probably didn't care for too much. A lifetime ago after college a buddy and I bought 1 way tickets to Alaska to exploit the wealth of the fishing industry. Joke was on us. I cherish those days though. Worked a beach net operation in Kenai, did a few Halibut openings in Homer, drifters in Kodiak and minor work on a King crab boat out of the harbor. Hitchhiked around the whole state, saw the northern lights, ate lots of Dolly Varden, got sick of Salmon, got fired off a crew at gunpoint after eating the night's King catch (which were someone else's subsistence pots so I'm OK with that, captain was an ass.) I remember seeing an outdoor play that showed the history of the Alexander Baranof in the region. I was a BSME mechanical engineer and got more than a few offers to stay and work in various industries. I often wonder how the stream of consciousness called life would have worked out had I stayed. I miss the area and the amazing sights - watching the Beluga's and the salmon sharks, the bears, the moose, the goats, eating roasted ptarmigan over a campfire. My kind of place. Walt Longmire
Finished the .5K marathon mid pack. In my defense, we started at the rear. The beer was good, and so were the snacks at the refreshment stations. The monsoon rains even stopped.

Lazy R
We used to run a race in Medical Lake WA called "Only Fools run at Midnight. It was March 31 at midnight becoming April Fools Day when the gun sounded. 5k 3.2 miles, people wearing zany costumes, we drank beer all night then ran it (early 20's I could pull that off). Good times.
