TBO
Quick draw shooters host state tourney Bring your holsters and old-timey revolvers to this weekend’s quick draw competition. The Twin Ports’ Black River Bandits are hosting a Cowboy Fast Draw Wisconsin state tournament in the 4H Building at the Head of the Lakes Fairgrounds at 4700 Tower Ave. In Cowboy Fast Draw, shooters compete with wax bullets and faithful reproductions of 1800s-era six-guns and holsters. They’re judged on speed and accuracy, from holster to target. Registration opens at 10:30 a.m. Friday with a celebrity charity shoot. Proceeds go to the Challenge Center of Superior, and celeb sightings are on the agenda with participation from Superior mayor Jim Paine, Justin Liles from WDIO and more. The Wisconsin state tournament continues at 8:30 a.m. Saturday with a main match and continues at 9 a.m. Sunday at the Superior Fairgrounds. Expect cowboy garb and cheeky aliases. Shooters must be current CFDA members, and admission is free for spectators. Visit http://blackriverbandits.org/events for more information.

Brad
This is a big deal. I learned from Lucas McCain that faster always beats earlier.

Silentpoet
I'm a man with a slow hand, a lover with an easy touch. Like the duke said I'm willing. Quote "Friend, there's nobody up there shooting back at you. It isn't always being fast or even accurate that counts. It's being willing. I found out early that most men, regardless of cause or need, aren't willing. They blink an eye or draw a breath before they pull the trigger. I won't."
